A B O U T

I believe in the power of words to clearly and creatively communicate truth and that the most truly beautiful things are irrevocably true. It's true that all of we humans are hopelessly wicked and objects of God's wrath in and of ourselves. But Jesus is also true, and His beauty pierces against the backdrop of our sin. In Him even the very worst sinner can receive cleansing and righteousness. Jesus saves sinners and gives them peace with the Father, altogether loved and welcome and close to the One of Whom all other things are just dirty, broken shadows. I believe that Jesus is infinitely beautiful, and I believe the Spirit works regeneration, faith, and repentance in our hearts as we encounter Christ's beauty in the gospel (2 Cor. 3:18-4:6).

As for me, my name is Devon. Things I care about include flowers and The Belgic Confession. I graduated with my B.A. in English in 2014. Since then, I've been working as an English and piano teacher along with writing a book on beauty.
I have mixed feelings about blogs, and I suppose this blog (named with a nod to Mr. Lewis's Narnia) is a bit of a catch-all for writing practice and sharing. I'm happy you are here!
